Ipsy January 2014!

Hi everyone! My Ipsy bag came in the mail several days ago and today I want to show you what was inside. Let's get started!

First of all, I've read a lot of complaints online about this month's bag, but I actually really like it! I think it's the cutest one I've ever gotten. Love the kitschy little silhouettes of beauty products!

Now, onto the products!

Proactiv+ Mark Fading Pads

These are four individually wrapped, pre-moistened pads. They contain glycolic and salicylic acids. While I'm definitely interested in this line and excited to try something from it, I'm also a little annoyed because there's no way I could ever know if these work after a mere four uses. Still, it's a nice thing to have and I hope to see more products from this brand in the future.

Elizabeth  Mott Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencil in Pearl

I haven't tried this yet, but it seems like it will be a great pencil for the lower waterline. It's so tiny that I don't think I'd use it as an eyeshadow, but instead just as an eyeliner. It's kind of adorable, though!

Mica Beauty Tinted Lip Balm in Fiesta

Here's the other color cosmetics item in this month's bag. I haven't tried it yet, but it sure does look kind of dry, and reviews I've read have said it's more of a stain than a balm. Guess I'll give it a shot; I do like the color.

Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion with Argan + Rosewater

I received a body lotion from this brand in an Ipsy bag several months ago and liked it, so I have high hopes for this face product, too. It's tiny and would be perfect to throw in my bag for a weekend trip or something.

Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

I'm actually super excited about this product because I have very dry, thirsty hair, so I love a good deep conditioner. The jar is pretty small (just 1 oz.), but my hair's pretty short right now so I should get several uses out of this.

One of my favorite beauty bloggers got the same bag as me this month and calculated the value at around $39.17. Not bad for a $10 investment!

I'd say I'm at least somewhat happy with everything here this month and will get use out of all the products. That makes it a win for me! If you're curious about Ipsy and are considering signing up, I hope you'll use my referral link. Thanks for reading this post!

  1. All of your beauty subscription posts make me want to sign up for one, or three! I'm too chicken though, because I'm really picky... That bag is super adorable!

  2. Haha subscriptions like this are definitely addictive! I started off with one, then two...now I'm up to three. I swear I can quit anytime I want!! ;)

But seriously, if you're going to sign up for any of them, I'd suggest Ipsy. It's only $10 a month, and there tends to be a lot of makeup, which I enjoy (and I know you do, too!). And there's no commitment, so you really can cancel whenever you decide you've had enough. Give it a try; you might love it! :)
